Got Some lyrics by Pearl Jam

These lyrics are for the song Got Some that Pearl Jam debuted on the Conan O'Brien Show as promo for the new album, Backspacer.

'Got Some' lyrics.

Every night with the lights out, where you gone?
What’s wrong?
Everytime you can try but can’t turn on
Your rock song

Got some if you need it

Get it now / get it on / before its gone
Let’s everybody carry on, carry on

Get it now / set it off / before its gone
Get everybody, carry on carrying on

Precipitation, which side are you on?
Are you on the rise? Are you falling down?
Lemme know, c’mon let’s go yeh!

Got some

Get it now / get it on / before its gone
Lets everybody carry on, carry on

Turn it up / set it off / Before we’re gone
Let’s everybody get it on, get it on

This situation, which side are you on?
Are you getting out? Are you dropping bombs?
Have you heard of diplomatic resolve? Yeh!

Precipitation, which side are you on?
Are you on the rise? Are you falling down?
Lemme know, c’mon let’s go

Get it now / Get it on/ Before it’s gone
Lets everybody carry on, carrying on

Turn it up / set it off / before we’re gone
Let’s everybody get it on, get it on

Precipitation, which side are you on?
Are you on the rise? Are you falling down?
Lemme know, c’mon let’s go

Got some if you need it
Got some.

Carry on... Let's go!

If you are thinking about brewing, you might want to use a thermostat to control fermentation temperature. You might want to play some PJ as you set it up!

I love this band, I still buy every record on vinyl, but seriously- something happened after JAck Irons left. The records have too many filler songs on them. Every record up to Yield was perfect from beginning to end. WHAT HAPPENED?

  2. I am in the same boat. I was excited to hear that O'Brien was working with them on this one, then I heard the album and was a big let down I guess.

What I really do not understand is all of the promotional work being done behind this album. Target, paid spots for The Fixer on ABC and ESPN, etc.

Have to wonder if its still just about the music anymore.

  3. As a loyal pearl jam fan for many many years I have to wonder myself what the deal is with the whole target exclusive album thing, but as far as the music goes this is probably the best album they have put out since yield. Every song on this album is solid from beginning to end. You have to be kidding me with filler songs! And Jack Irons was only with the band for like two albums.

  4. We all know that the power of their lyrics still rules.
The energy of punk still there with the heavy metal dynamic too.
But, there's still no percusive drums as we heard in TEN and VS.
No more long solo lead guitar playing like they did in Alive.
    What can we say then?
For me, they are still a big heroes..

  5. yeah, I totally agree, the band have decided to change, and as eddie said in making the backpsacer short video, they have made plenty of records, and maybe they will ocntinue.....this one is the shortest one, and I respect that. I see a lot of positive aspects in their lyrics, and yeah I maybe miss some solos from mike, but still it is a great record.

  7. they dealt with target exclusively because target was the only big box store that would allow them to put the album on Itunes and release through indie record stores. the band's core values haven't changed. unfortunately, to release an album on their own they had to make some concessions. I think the album is excellent.

  8. They have some rock songs as this song explains. It´s far away from their first 3 albums, but this is pretty decent for any other band

  9. Hi (early posting) guys - just give this album a little time. I know where you're coming from. Forget Target, and all the shit. Just listen to the band, especially to 'Unknown Thought' a few times.
    All the best!

  10. ehhhmm its my turn to comment... i agree with the irons stuff... as a drummer... he had a greater sound in studio than matt... matt is a better drummer... more technique but all that matters is the music and the feeling... the album is great but i still miss things like... given to fly, off he goes, immortality, as a personal oppinion, i think they are using the same formula that avocado... they are not expermimenting any more. i think the best pj song from 2000 to 2009 is... you are... why they are not making things like that? only the formulaaaa... any way... i love them... pj forever...

  11. 1. Sony is a larger corporation than Target
    2. Cameron > Irons

  12. how can you expect a band to last for 20 years if they are always on the same wave (10's and vs's...)?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Can't agree more...evolution is a constant to any band, specially if they've been together for >20 years...they've matured, moved away from the 90s, and even though we all love ten, vs, and so on, they will never release an album like close

Don't you guys think it'd be boring for them to play the same music for ages? I also think that we'd get tired of it...just imagine "oh god, yet another record like the last one"

I guess the great thing about them is that if you have the chance of seeing them live you'll relive those records...that's probably why their bootlegs are so sought after.

  15. Pearl Jam is NEVER going to be content with recycling the same album over and over again. You folks that STILL feel the need to compare their new albums with the older ones are missing what makes Pearl Jam so amazing! Each new album is unique. It's innovative and a sign of where they are as a band and as human beings. There are plenty of bands that put out essentially the same record each time. Thank God for Pearl Jam! Don't question them, just enjoy them. :)

  16. luis manuel i agree 100 percent with your comment about''you are''..yes..i think whats missing is the groove...power songs like''animal'',''go'' ,''blood'',''even flow'' and ''once'' are missing... but they were another band back then..they had the energy to write songs like that..i personally like all their albums but i believe that they should give jeff ament more space to compose coz songs like ''army reserve'' or ''push me pull me '' is the real pearl jam...P.J FOREVER

  17. Cannot agree more! Stop comparing their new albums to their previous ones. People grow, they evolve, they are not meant to stagnate. For gods sake, they're probably in their 40's now. Cant churn out the music or emotions they felt 20 years ago. This is healthy evolution. Not selling out or stagnating that many bands ended up doing. The new album simply blew me away and i felt it was stronger than their last last three. Bravo...Keep on rocking!

  18. Pearl Jam.....Grew up.
Its not all about "me vs the world" in life, or "indifferences" & riot acts...They are much more POSITIVE now, older and wiser. It seems they are trying to come back to life, thats great.
I agree with the last comment. I've been fan since Ten...) Shit now im 32!
This album has some great powerful songs, specially lyrics. Im enjoying it!!

  20. The ablum is Tight, Rocking and full of live and emotion. Hell listen to Just Breathe, Unknown Thought, Force of Nature. That's not to mention the energy in Super Sonic and Got Some. The band are still the best out there, still rocking hard and still looking share their passion and love of music with who ever wants to hear it.
